What this card is

A business card. Consumer protections under the CARD Act generally do not apply to business accounts, and most issuers require a personal guarantee from the owner.

What the rate costs

Put a number on it: carry $1,000 on this card for a year at 16.99% and the interest comes to about $170, roughly $14 a month. That is simple interest on a flat balance, so read it as a scale rather than a bill — real interest compounds daily and moves with what you owe.

The fees

There is no annual fee. Foreign transactions cost 1%, applied to anything processed outside the US — including online purchases from foreign sellers. Balance transfers carry no fee, which is unusual and worth real money if you intend to move a balance.
